Just in case someone is looking for a place to draw...

I'd recommend Sebastian's Tuesday group in Oakland as a friendly and alternative choice. He plays all sorts of crazy music and you might want to contact him first to make sure there's space available to set up your media.

Re: list of figure drawing locations in the Bay Area
Thu, September 28, 2006 - 11:57 AMOh YES, that list has been a lifesaver for me, in the past. I haven't tried that particular drawing group, but I do need to get my hand back into some life drawing soon, so thanks for the recommendation. Does anyone else have favorite groups? It'd be great to have some first-hand opinions : ). -

Re: list of figure drawing locations in the Bay Area
Sun, March 11, 2007 - 12:57 AMThe Bay Area Models Guild hosts sessions Friday night 6:30-9:30 and Saturday morning 10-1 at UC Berkeley, Kroeber Hall room 365. They're cheap, I think it's four bucks--and less if you're a UC student. The drawbacks are that the light's kind of bleah, and if you like music and conviviality, these sessions will feel like a morgue. However, if you like it quiet, you can't go wrong.
I am, incidentally, the BAMG's new drawing marathon coordinator, so I might as well mention now that the next marathon will be Sunday, May 6th at Merritt College. You can get more deets at www.bayareamodelsguild.org, and I will be making a more formal post in about a week. We had a great turnout at February's event, a bunch of the new models showed up and did a great job, and the "Carnaval" theme worked out so well that I'm going to have a theme for this one too. A fun one. -
